OUR STORY

KION was born from a simple idea: to create a place where flavours, cultures and experiences come together in a way that feels genuine and alive.

What began as a personal vision has grown into a shared journey, shaped in the kitchen every day.

Here, different influences meet through curiosity, craft and a deep respect for ingredients.

Every dish is made from scratch, with intention and care.
Honest food. Fresh flavours. Thoughtful execution.

This is KION, a living kitchen, driven by flavour, people and purpose, right here in Belfast.

WHAT IS KION?

Is the Peruvian word for ginger.

A root known for warmth, depth and intensity of flavour. It represents energy, movement and connection.

For us, KION symbolises the spirit of our cuisine:
rooted, expressive, vibrant and alive.

NIKKEI AT KION

Nikkei refers to the cultural and culinary influence created by Japanese communities in Latin America, especially Peru.

Over time, Japanese techniques met Latin ingredients,  citrus, chillies, seafood, corn and herbs,  creating a style of cooking that is fresh, balanced and expressive.

At KION, Latin-Nikkei means Latin flavour first, elevated through Nikkei balance, precision and harmony.
